Homies are a series of figurines loosely based upon Chicanos characters.by
artist David Gonzales. These figurines were initially sold via vending machines
typically positioned in supermarkets, but quickly became collectibles among
young children through teenagers.
After the figures caused controversy with Los Angeles police
department (LAPD) Gonzales created a story for each of the Homies'
characters, each of which had a positive view of the characters and
Mainstream stores, quickly returned the Homies to their
stacks, and the toy branched out to include a line of die cast cars,. By
2005, the Homies character line had women, as well as Filipino, Japanese and
Puerto Rican characters. Homies have become a highly collectible item
.and have extended beyond his origins to Clothing and Accessories , Bags and
Briefcases Hats , Keychains , Outerwear , Scarves and Ties , Shirts,
Watches, Collectibles, Chess Sets , Miscellaneous products, Sculptures, Desk
